Friday and Saturday we had Charley Britt, Sydney Britt, Will Booker, Will and Mark fishing with us. Charley's group is the same crowd that has been fishing with Captain Brian for years in this tournament. Charley and Will have been fishing a long time and have been many places all over the world fishing for Marlins. They know their stuff and they are pretty good at hooking em when they come in there.
Friday we headed out to the fishing grounds and we were all pumped and ready to go.
Captain Brian had a pretty spot picked out when lines went in at 9:00. It was not long before we had a pair of Whites come in on the right flat and right short. They guys both fed em and only 1 of them came tight just for a split second and he pulled off.
Around 11:00 we had a Sailfish come in on the right short. He fed him just right but never came tight to him. We did not have any other bites the rest of the day.
Saturday we put lines in at 8:00. We did not have any bites all day until 1:40. The right teaser reel went ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ and just about gave us all heart attacks. Steve grabbed the right flat and popped it out of the clip. Before he could let the line go the fish took the bait right out of his hands. Steve did a perfect job of feeding him and hooked him up just right. Will was the angler and did a great job. Captain Brian did an awesome job of running the boat as always. About 8 minutes later Steve got the leader on a long skinny White Marlin. We did not have another bite the last few minutes.

Here is a link to the video of the White marlin that my son took on Saturday;

Unfortunately, Saturday was my last trip on the RUN-OFF as the full time mate. I will still fill in for him if and when he needs someone. I took a promotion at work as the shop supervisor. That is going to require me to be there 5 days a week instead of 4 or 3 or 2 days a week. Fortunately, I have been able to take as many days off as I needed to for the last couple seasons. This new job will also allow me to spend more time with my son who is growing up way to fast.

I can not begin to put into words what its like fishing with Captain Brian. He has taught me so much about so many different things. When I started fishing with him a couple seasons ago I thought I knew what I was doing. I soon found out that I was way behind where I needed to be. Captain Brian took me under his wing and taught me everything he could. I learned how to do everything the Extreme way, which in my book is the only way to do it. Captain Brian and myself both are very particular about our fishing. We like everything to be just perfect. We fish every charter like its a tournament.
It brings tears to my eyes when I think about it. There is nobody I would rather fish with then Captain Brian. Of course I fish with other people and I will Freelance with other people as needed. But, as many of you know....fishing with THE BEAST is truely awesome. I will miss that more then words can describe. I respect Captain Brian more then just about anyone I know. He is a great Captain, fishermen, Husband, Father and friend.
Captain Brian THE BEAST Harrington....Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to work with you. Thank you so much for taking the time teach me and have patients with me. Thanks for being a true friend.

I would also like to thank all of our customers who have fished with us the last couple seasons. It has been such a pleasure to get to know you, your friends and family members that have fished with us. I will miss you all very much.

Thanks

John McGinty

Tuesday we had our Autozone group with us. Craig, Chris, Gilbert, Ken, Rich and Rody.

It was a very nice ride out and it was flat calm all day long. The fishing was really slow throughout the entire day.

We hooked a Sailfishg early in the morning on the left flat and Gilbert made short work of him on the dink rod.

Other then that we managed a couple gaffers (1 citation) and a Wahoo. We got bit off by a couple wahoos throughout the day. Other then that, that was about the only action all day for us.

We fished offshore on Friday with Frank and his family. It was a pretty day on the water but the fishing was slow. Planer rod saw more action then anything.

We caught a couple Mahi's in the morning and then a couple more throughout the day. We managed a couple King's, Cuda's and an AJ throughout the day as well.

Everyone had a great time as always though.
